The first completed forward observations show that contract quality alone is not an edge. That is useful evidence: it tells us exactly which missing layers the master board must add.
Five-session evidence currently covers only 20 contracts, so it is too small for a confident claim. A “majority winners” claim will require at least 100 out-of-sample triggered setups, positive net expectancy, and a 95% win-rate lower bound above 50%.
The new master-board ladder
Only a candidate that clears all four gates can be labeled decision-ready. Today’s Barchart export supplies Gate R1.
Find liquid option contracts worth investigating.
Require trend, sector strength, compression, and catalyst context.
Require price and relative-volume confirmation without chasing extension.
Require live spread, volatility value, invalidation, and position-size approval.
Hard gates before weighted scores. Missing data cannot receive a neutral score; it blocks advancement.

Run the 10-question check ↓The complete decision check
The checklist slows the decision down at the exact places where an exciting chart can hide a poor option contract.
What underlying-price move must happen before the idea becomes actionable?
Which strike and expiration are you actually evaluating?
Is the bid/ask spread acceptable for a patient limit order?
Do volume and open interest support the plan?
How far must the underlying move to reach break-even?
What do delta, implied volatility, and event risk change?
What evidence would prove the setup wrong?
What conditions mean you should walk away?
What is the maximum planned loss and position-size rule?
When will the result be scored honestly—including no-trades?
Keep it beside your watchlist. Check every gate while the idea is still only a candidate.

The Best Chance Market Desk turns noisy options data into a readable sequence: prepare the evidence, rank the candidates, verify the contract, define the decision, and review what actually happened.
Evidence behind the upgrade
Research supports momentum, earnings drift, selected option-flow information, and rapid filing data as useful inputs. None of them guarantees a winner, and several require data that the current export does not contain.
Use medium-horizon strength as context, not a standalone entry.
Short horizonContinuation can turn into reversalRequire a fresh trigger instead of chasing several days of movement.
Option flowDirection matters more than raw volumeOpening buyer-initiated flow is not equivalent to total contract volume.
CatalystsSEC filings can be monitored quickly8-K, financial facts, and submission history can add dated event context.
ExecutionThe spread is part of the setupBid, ask, and liquidity must be gates—not footnotes after ranking.
